- Scan History - Records of foods you've scanned (stored locally on your device)
How We Use Your Information
- Food Analysis - We send your food photos to OpenAI's vision API to analyze gut health properties. Photos are processed in real-time and are not stored on our servers or by OpenAI after analysis.
- Personalization - Your allergy and gut concern preferences are used to provide tailored advice. This information is stored only on your device.
- App Improvement - Anonymous feedback helps us improve the app experience.
Data Storage
Gut·Era uses a privacy-first approach:
- Local Storage - Personal data (nickname, allergies, gut concerns, scan history) is stored locally on your device using secure storage.
- Minimal Server Storage - We only store anonymous feedback you voluntarily submit (ratings and optional comments) to help improve the app. This feedback is not linked to your identity.
- No Photo Retention - Food photos are temporarily transmitted for analysis and immediately discarded. They are not stored on our servers.
- No User Accounts - We do not require or store user accounts, emails, or personal identifiers.
Third-Party Services
We use the following third-party services:
- OpenAI - For food image analysis using GPT-4 Vision. OpenAI processes images according to their privacy policy.
- RevenueCat - For subscription management. RevenueCat handles payment processing according to their privacy policy.
- Apple/Google - For in-app purchases and payment processing.
Data Security
We implement appropriate security measures to protect your information:
- All data transmission uses HTTPS encryption
- Local data is stored using platform-secure storage mechanisms
- No sensitive data is logged or stored on servers

You have full control over your data:

- Delete - Clear all local data by resetting the app or uninstalling
